FAQ

How does artwork need to be formatted?

For the most part, we can help format your finished artwork properly and get it ready for printing. However, if you are creating your own artwork and want to do it yourself, here’s what you need to know:

Your artwork will eventually need to be a vector or raster (bitmap) image before it prints.

Vector

File types: .ai .eps .pdf .svg

  • All fonts must be converted to outlines or font files must be included.
  • Images of photos or drawings may have to be converted to 6 colors or less.

Raster (bitmap)

File types: .psd .jpg .tiff .bmp

  • The image size should be the actual size you want it to appear on the garment. Typical sizes are 4″ x 4″ for smaller designs (like pocket prints) and 10-11″ wide for a standard center chest print.
  • The image resolution should be 300+ dpi.
  • If sending an Adobe Photoshop file (.psd), please rasterize all text (or include font files) and separate colors by layers or channels.

How should I send artwork to you?

If you are ready to send us your artwork, there are a number of ways to get it to us:

  • We can accept email attachments of up to 25 MB.
  • If you want to send us a file larger than 25 MB, you can use a third party service to transfer files online (here are a few).
  • You can save it on a CD and snail mail it to us (or bring it in!).

What if my artwork is more than 6 colors?

We may still be able to print it; there are ways to remove colors and still keep it looking good. Just send us your artwork and we can help you.

Do you use PMS (Pantone Matching System) colors?

No, all of our inks are mixed by hand. But while we can’t guarantee an absolutely perfect color match, our ink mixing wizardry helps us come mysteriously close.

Will you print on garments I provide?

Absolutely, this usually occurs for specialty items and we are happy to accept them as long as extra garments are provided in case of misprints. However, if you’re thinking of getting standard garments for cheap yourself, keep in mind that we can order many different brands of garments from large wholesalers at a low cost (like very, very low). If that’s the case, just check to make sure we can’t provide them for a lower price!

Do you print over seams?

Generally, yes. However, printing over the seams on fabric is a challenge and can give unexpected results. If you want your artwork printed over seams, some garments may experience an ink build up or missing ink on the seams that is unpreventable.

Do you print posters?

Yes, we do all kinds of paper printing: signs, posters, restaurant menus, business cards, etc.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Full payment must be received before pickup or shipment. We accept a number of payment methods:

  • Credit Card (Visa/MasterCard)
  • PayPal
  • Checks (personal/business)
  • Cash
  • Please inquire about other payment methods

A deposit of half (½) the total order price may be required before printing (unless you are supplying your own garments).
