Hi Folks,
Well it looks like the rest of the month of June will be mostly devoted to preparing for the month of July. (Sorry June) Preparing is still important though and as a wise old Ty Gilbert once said ‘proper preparation prevents piss poor performance.’ It’s the 6 or 7 P’s to success philosophy. So, what type of things are we preparing for you ask? Well the ball’s gonna start rolling fast with an art show right here at Unknown Arts on Fri the 2nd and then a party at Speaking Volumes on the 3rd for the fireworks spectacular! For further details please read on below->
Friday July 2nd: In conjunction with the First Friday Artwalk, Unknown Arts presents ‘Atelier Unknown’ – paintings, drawings, prints, and who knows what else. Featured artists are currently Paddy Charles, Ben Machado, and Phill Landry with more people probably contributing stuff as well. Maybe the dreamachine will even make an appearance… Gallery hours: Friday July 2, 5:30PM-9PM; Saturday July 3, 10AM-4PM.
Saturday July 3rd: At 4PM we will be shutting down the studio and moving our bodies across the street to help our friends over at Speaking Volumes start to set up for their annual fireworks party/benefit concert. Besides setting up a t-shirt table we’ll be helping them with general event coordination and other fun things I’m sure we’re not even aware of! If anyone would like to come, have a good time, and help us out please send us an email (info@unknownartstudio.com) cause the more hands the better! It also looks like some of our friends will be playing some of the music at the party but seeing as how they haven’t even released the line-up yet we’ll keep our mouths shut.
The rest of July: Rumor has it that certain persons and groups currently unrelated to ourselves will be organizing an underground calendar of events that’s going to turn the entire month of July into one big party. We’ll have more details on that later… for now let’s go back to the present and live in June and enjoy the horrible weather (sorry again June).
We’ve been busy printing shirts for Burlington’s most famous bar/club Nectar’s, which is a huge honor for us. Look at Dan go! We also did some shirts for the Frisoli Youth Center in Cambridge, MA (artwork by none other than graffiti expert Pat K) and Marina printed her first t-shirt!
Things are looking good for the rest of June and as long as the weather clears up for July we’ll be psyched! Stay tuned…
